Syracuse Football Lands Commitment from Philadelphia Defensive Back Ziyyon Bredell

Head coach Fran Brown and the Syracuse Orange football program have added a new member to their 2025 recruiting class: defensive back Ziyyon Bredell from Philadelphia.

Bredell chose Syracuse over Maryland and Pittsburgh on Monday, announcing his decision at a ceremony at his high school and posting it on Instagram.

Bredell had offers from a number of other schools, including Penn State, Boston College, and Nebraska.

Bredell is a three-star recruit according to 247Sports and is ranked as the No. 42 safety in the 2025 class.

He is Syracuse’s second commitment in the 2025 class, joining quarterback LaNorris Sellers from Florida.
