Sharjeel Imam has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court in connection with the 2020 riots case, in which he was accused of sedition. Imam, who was arrested under sedition charges and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for allegedly giving provocative speeches in Delhi’s Jamia area and Aligarh Muslim University, will, however, remain in jail due to other charges in the Delhi riots conspiracy case.
