Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has alleged that the BJP planned to kill him two days ago. He accused the BJP of raiding his helicopter using the Income Tax department, sending ED and CBI after him, and targeting his wife and parents. Banerjee’s comments came after the arrest of 26/11 suspect-turned-approver Rajaram Rege for conducting a recce of Banerjee’s house and office. Rege’s wife and four locals, including two taxi drivers, have also been questioned by Kolkata Police’s STF. Banerjee claimed that the BJP has used a section of the judiciary against him and that a judge who previously convicted criminals is now contesting on a BJP ticket. The BJP has not yet responded to Banerjee’s allegations.
