U.S.-based aircraft lessor Azorra has taken delivery of its first A220-300 from Airbus in Mirabel, Quebec. The aircraft is leased to Breeze Airways and signifies the start of Azorra’s fleet, which includes an order for 22 A220-300s. The A220, with its comfortable cabin, reduced operating costs, and environmental benefits, is ideal for the 100-150 seat market. The aircraft offers a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat, and a 50% reduction in noise pollution compared to previous models. The A220 is equipped to operate with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and is expected to be fully SAF compatible by 2030. Breeze Airways has 23 A220s in service, with an additional 10 on order, and plans to transition to an all-A220 fleet by the end of 2024. The A220, with over 330 delivered to 20 airlines, has proven its versatility and popularity in the aviation industry.
