NASA has awarded Electra.aero a significant contract to develop next-generation sustainable aircraft designs, aiming to transform commercial air travel by mid-century. This project aligns with NASA’s AACES 2050 initiative, focusing on reducing aviation’s carbon footprint and advancing eco-friendly technologies. Electra, led by aerospace pioneer John Langford, is pushing the boundaries of sustainable aviation with its innovative hybrid-electric propulsion systems and ultra-short takeoff and landing (USTOL) capabilities.
