In a bid to challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party’s dominance in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have forged an alliance under the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA). AAP will contest on four seats while Congress will field candidates on three. The campaign has been marked by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest and subsequent release, transforming him into a star campaigner for INDIA. Despite the BJP’s attempt to portray Kejriwal as corrupt, AAP’s ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ campaign has resonated with voters. Congress, after initial internal discord, has joined forces with AAP against a common enemy. The polls will reveal whether AAP can break the BJP’s winning streak and if Congress can revive its presence in Delhi.
