During the India vs. Pakistan match at the T20 World Cup 2024, an aircraft flew over the stadium displaying the message ‘Release Imran Khan.’ Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption ‘Release Imran Khan.’ Khan, who served as Pakistan’s Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022, has been held in Adiala Jail since August 2023 on charges including the Toshakhana case, the cipher case, and an un-Islamic marriage case. Notably, Khan led Pakistan to victory in the 1992 ODI World Cup.
