Saudi Arabia’s national airline, Saudia, has partnered with AEGEAN, the Greek national carrier, in an extensive codeshare agreement that promises to enhance travel experiences for passengers. This strategic alliance offers a wide array of benefits, including an expanded network of destinations, streamlined booking and ticketing processes, convenient transfers, baggage checked through to the final destination, and a reciprocal loyalty program.
The partnership introduces digital transit visa services, allowing global travelers to enjoy a stopover of up to 96 hours in Saudi Arabia, managed by Saudia in cooperation with the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This collaboration aims to promote tourism across the region by providing easier access to both countries.
The codeshare agreement opens up new routes for passengers, as AEGEAN provides access to 156 destinations across 47 countries, including popular cities like Zagreb, Tirana, Santorini, and Rhodes. AEGEAN’s passengers, in turn, gain access to domestic routes within Saudi Arabia, facilitating exploration and tourism in the Kingdom.
Codeshare flights are set to commence on May 9th and are available for booking through both airlines’ websites and travel agencies. This partnership aligns with Saudia’s mission to connect the world with the Kingdom and support the National Transport and Logistics Strategy’s aim to enhance air connectivity to over 250 destinations by 2030.
