Agnibaan Rocket Sub-Orbital Test Flight Success: PM Modi Lauds India’s Space Sector

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the successful sub-orbital test flight of Agnikul Cosmos’ Agnibaan rocket as a remarkable feat and a momentous occasion for India’s space sector. The rocket’s semi-cryogenic engine, the world’s first single-piece 3D-printed engine, is a testament to the ingenuity of India’s youth. Agnikul Cosmos becomes the second private Indian entity to launch a sub-orbital rocket after Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-S in November 2022.

Agnikul Cosmos Achieves Multiple Firsts with Successful Agnibaan Mission

Private spacetech startup Agnikul Cosmos has accomplished a triumphant mission with the launch of its Agnibaan Suborbital Technological Demonstrator (SOrTeD). This launch marks several milestones for India’s space sector, including the country’s first private launchpad launch, the first semi-cryogenic engine-powered rocket launch, and the utilization of India’s first single-piece 3D-printed engine for a launch vehicle. The SOrTeD mission serves as a test flight to validate Agnikul’s indigenous technologies and gather crucial data for the development of the two-stage Agnibaan launch vehicle.
