The Congress, led by Rahul Gandhi, continues to criticize the scheme, accusing the Defence Minister of lying about the compensation package.

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, launched a scathing attack on the Agniveer scheme and the BJP-led government, accusing them of attacking the idea of India. He alleged that the Agniveer scheme treats soldiers as ‘use and throw laborers’ and criticized the BJP for their handling of the scheme. The defense minister, Rajnath Singh, countered Gandhi’s claims, defending the scheme and highlighting the financial assistance provided to the families of Agniveers who sacrifice their lives.

Indian Navy Agniveer 2024 Registration Begins

The Indian Navy has initiated the registration process for Agniveer SSR, MR 2024. Eligible candidates can apply through the official website till May 27, 2024. Applicants should be born between November 1, 2003, and April 30, 2007. They must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics, a three-year diploma in Engineering, or a two-year vocational course with specific subjects, all with at least 50% marks. Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible.
