The ancient burial mounds of the Ahom dynasty in Assam, known as ‘Moidams’, have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, marking the first cultural property from the Northeast to receive this coveted designation. This recognition highlights the unique cultural heritage and architectural prowess of the Tai-Ahom community, who ruled Assam for over 600 years.
