Paris Airspace to Close for Six Hours During Olympic Opening Ceremony

As part of the extensive security measures for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the Paris region’s airspace will be temporarily closed for six hours on July 26th, the day of the opening ceremony. The no-fly zone will encompass a 150-kilometer radius around Paris, ensuring the safety of the unprecedented waterborne ceremony on the River Seine. During the closure, military aircraft, including AWACS surveillance planes, will patrol the skies for potential threats. Additionally, experimental small electric-powered airborne taxis may be trialed with passengers during the Games, marking a significant milestone in the development of sustainable air transport.
