Barbados and Grand Cayman Direct Flights to Cease Operations

Effective July 3rd, 2024, direct flights between Barbados and Grand Cayman operated by Cayman Airways will be discontinued. The service will be reduced to once weekly from May 17th, 2024, before its termination following a comprehensive review by the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) and Cayman Airways. Despite the cessation of this route, BTMI emphasizes increased seat capacity from key markets, including a 60,000-seat increase for the upcoming winter season. The strategic focus on airlift expansion and marketing efforts has resulted in a significant surge in demand for Barbados, particularly from the USA and the Caribbean. The decision to discontinue the Cayman Airways service allows both parties to explore new opportunities while expressing gratitude for their past collaboration.
