The annual 10-day Brahmotsavam festival at the renowned Sri Parthasarathi Perumal temple in Triplicane, Chennai, commenced on Tuesday with the traditional flag hoisting ceremony. The festival features a series of grand processions, where the Utsava idols of the deities are adorned in elaborate alankarams and carried on various vahanams (vehicles). The highlight of the festival is the Garuda Sevai, scheduled to take place on Thursday at 5:15 a.m., followed by the Surya Prabhai and Chandra Prabhai Sevais the following day. Other significant events include the Yaanai vahanam procession on April 28th and the Kannan alankaram on April 30th. The festival culminates in the Theerthavari ceremony on May 1st.
