Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers was voted the NBA Most Improved Player of the Year, beating out Chicago Bulls guard Coby White and Houston Rockets big man Alperen Sengun. White’s numbers improved significantly from last season, but Maxey pulled away with his All-Star appearance and contributions to the 76ers’ playoff push. White came off a low-scoring season but increased his role and production, while Sengun led the Rockets in scoring and rebounding. In other news, the Bulls announced assistant coach Chris Fleming will not return and Maurice Cheeks will shift to a new position within the organization, with Josh Longstaff and John Bryant expected to receive promotions.
