A contract worker died and two others were injured in an accident at the Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilizers factory on Friday. The incident occurred while workers were attempting to fix a leaky pipeline at the ammonia manufacturing plant. The deceased, identified as A Hariharan, 23, died instantly due to heavy burns and injuries sustained from an ammonia concentrate stream.
