An 83-year-old woman from Greenville, South Carolina, sustained serious injuries after being gored by a wild bison at Yellowstone National Park on June 1. The incident occurred near the Storm Point Trail at Yellowstone Lake when the bison lifted the woman a foot off the ground with its horns, apparently defending its space. Emergency responders transported the woman to a medical center for treatment of her injuries. The National Park Service advises visitors to keep a safe distance from wildlife and obey safety regulations to prevent such incidents.
