Chennai Steps Up Fight Against Stray Dog Menace with Ambitious Birth Control Program

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has announced an ambitious plan to tackle the stray dog problem in the city. They aim to perform 50,000 animal birth control surgeries per year, a significant increase from the current 15,000. This includes establishing new centers, hiring additional staff, and collaborating with NGOs to achieve their goals. The plan also includes addressing concerns about post-surgery complications and improving the accuracy of the city’s dog census.
