The San Bernardino Animal Shelter is expanding its services to include the cities of Fontana, Colton, and Rialto. The shelter, which currently serves Grand Terrace and Loma Linda, will begin providing animal services to the three additional cities on July 1st. The move is expected to double the number of animals the shelter cares for, with an estimated 12,000 dogs and cats expected to be brought in this year. The shelter plans to accommodate the growth with temporary kennels and shelters and is looking to build a larger facility in the next 3-5 years. Additional staff will also be hired to help with adoptions and fostering.
