The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) is preparing to privatize garbage collection in Tondiarpet and Anna Nagar zones, following the success of similar initiatives in Royapuram and Thiru Vi Ka Nagar. The decision comes amidst complaints from residents about the current state of garbage collection in Tondiarpet, including issues with attendance, segregation, and timely collection. This move will bring the total number of privatized zones in Chennai to 14 out of 15.
