Four individuals, including two police officers, have been charged in connection with the alleged suicide of a man who was reportedly harassed and assaulted at a police outpost over a disagreement regarding the model of a motorcycle as dowry. The incident occurred on Saturday when Anoop Kumar, the victim, engaged in a dispute with his fiancé’s father over the specific motorcycle model he demanded as part of the dowry. The parties were summoned to the Dhanuhi police outpost, where Kumar was allegedly subjected to intimidation and physical violence. Kumar returned home later that night and reportedly took his own life. Authorities have registered a case against the outpost’s in-charge, a constable, and two relatives of the bride.
