Narsingh Yadav Elected as Chairman of Wrestling Federation of India’s Athletes’ Commission

Former Commonwealth Games gold medalist Narsingh Pancham Yadav has been elected chairman of the Wrestling Federation of India’s (WFI) Athletes’ Commission, fulfilling a mandate by the sport’s world governing body, United World Wrestling (UWW). The election was conducted on Wednesday, with seven members elected from a pool of eight candidates. Narsingh’s election as chairman followed the polling process. The formation of the commission is part of the WFI’s efforts to address the grievances of wrestlers and comply with the conditions set by UWW for lifting the suspension of the federation. The other elected members of the Athletes’ Commission are Sahil (Delhi), Smitha AS (Kerala), Bharti Bhaghei (UP), Khushboo S Pawar (Gujarat), Nikki (Haryana), and Sweta Dubey (Bengal).
