On Sunday morning, police in Los Angeles apprehended a suspect after a break-in at Mayor Karen Bass’s official residence. The suspect gained entry to Getty House by smashing a window, but Bass and her family were unharmed. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and an investigation is underway. Bass is the first woman and second Black person to hold the mayoral position in Los Angeles.
