Yoko Ono to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award from MacDowell

Legendary artist Yoko Ono, known for her subversive art and music, will be honored with a lifetime achievement award from MacDowell. The Edward MacDowell Medal will be presented to Ono’s longtime manager, David Newgarden, at an event in Peterborough, New Hampshire, on July 21. Ono’s interdisciplinary work has spanned seven decades, including visual art, performance art, films, and avant-garde music, inspiring the Fluxus art movement and conceptual artists. Despite her absence at the ceremony, Ono’s son, Sean Ono Lennon, expressed his pride and gratitude for the recognition of her art.
