BJP drops sitting MP, fields Tashi Gyalson as Ladakh candidate

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named Tashi Gyalson as its candidate for the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, replacing incumbent MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal in a move that has met with opposition from the latter. Gyalson, the chairman-cum-chief executive councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council in Leh, was selected over Namgyal, who had represented the constituency since 2014. Following the announcement, Namgyal expressed dissatisfaction with the decision and hinted at making further announcements regarding his future plans.
