Syracuse Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Gun Possession in Fatal Shooting

Bernard Brumfield, 21, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for possessing a handgun on the night A’salic Parham was fatally shot in Syracuse in 2020. A murder charge against Brumfield was dropped as part of a plea deal. Brumfield was one of three people accused of participating in Parham’s murder, but prosecutors never commented on his specific role. The other two defendants, Zaira Goodin and Vanico Spaights, are still facing charges in connection with the case.
