BJP’s Ashok Chavan Assures No Changes to Indian Constitution

Ashok Chavan, a BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, has emphasized that India’s Constitution will remain intact. Speaking to the media in his constituency of Nanded, Chavan stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has categorically ruled out any alterations. Chavan highlighted that PM Modi’s directive serves as party policy. He also noted that individual comments on constitutional changes hold less weight than the stance of the BJP’s top leadership.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made it clear that the Constitution will not be amended, as stated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This comes after a party member raised the issue of changing the statute book. The BJP’s Rajya Sabha member, Ashok Chavan, emphasized that individual opinions do not hold weight when it comes to the narrative about the Constitution, and that Modi’s statement is the guiding principle for the party.

Second Phase of Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections: Nanded and Amravati in Focus

The second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra is scheduled for April 26, with voting in eight constituencies: Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal – Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani. Nanded, traditionally a Congress stronghold, will be keenly watched, especially with former Congress leader Ashok Chavan now aligning with the BJP. Amravati will also be a key battleground, with the BJP and the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) fielding strong candidates against the Congress.
