A 26-year-old individual has been arrested and charged following an alleged attempted residential robbery in Oakville, Ontario, and a subsequent police chase. The suspect was reportedly confronted by a homeowner while removing items from a garage and subsequently fled the scene in a vehicle, striking the homeowner’s parked car in the process.
The pursuit, which spanned approximately four kilometers, culminated near the intersection of Trafalgar Road and Upper Middle Road after a spike belt deployed by police deflated the suspect’s vehicle’s tires. Despite causing damage to three police cruisers, the chase concluded without any reported injuries.
