Aeroflot, Russia’s leading airline, is set to commence regular flights on the Moscow — Cheboksary — Moscow route from June 14, 2024. This marks Aeroflot’s inaugural launch of flights to the capital of the Chuvash Republic, catering to business travelers and domestic tourists. The direct flights will provide convenient access to Aeroflot Group’s extensive network via Sheremetyevo Airport for residents of Chuvashia.
Saudia Group has unveiled the biggest aircraft transaction in Saudi aviation history with Airbus on the opening day of the Future Aviation Forum 2024, hosted in Riyadh’s King Abdulaziz International Conference Center. Saudia will acquire 54 A321neo planes, while flyadeal, the group’s budget airline, will take 12 A320neo and 39 A321neo aircraft.
Saudia Group, the parent company of Saudia and flyadeal, has finalized an order for 105 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, consisting of 12 A320neo and 93 A321neo planes. This order brings the Group’s Airbus backlog to 144 A320neo family aircraft. The agreement was announced at the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh and is expected to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 plan, which aims to attract over 150 million tourists by 2030.

U.S.-based aircraft lessor Azorra has taken delivery of its first A220-300 from Airbus in Mirabel, Quebec. The aircraft offers a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat, and a 50% reduction in noise pollution compared to previous models. The A220 is equipped to operate with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and is expected to be fully SAF compatible by 2030. Breeze Airways has 23 A220s in service, with an additional 10 on order, and plans to transition to an all-A220 fleet by the end of 2024. The Senate has passed a five-year reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), putting pressure on the House to also approve the measure before the Friday deadline. The bill passed the Senate by a vote of 88 to 4, despite concerns from some lawmakers over additional flights at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The FAA re-authorization needs to be approved by the House and signed by President Biden before its expiration on May 10th.
