Symbol Allocation Sparks Controversy in Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency

Amidst the ongoing election campaign in Baramati, a new issue has emerged with the allocation of election symbols. An independent candidate received the ‘Trumpet’ symbol, which is similar to the Marathi name of the symbol used by NCP (SP). NCP (SP) has filed an objection with the Election Commission of India (ECI), claiming the symbol allocation creates confusion. The independent candidate, Sohail Shah Sheikh, has expressed optimism about the symbol’s impact on his chances of victory. NCP (SP) faces a significant challenge in Baramati, where Supriya Sule, the incumbent MP, is challenged by Sunetra Pawar, wife of Ajit Pawar from NCP. The close race and family feud have grabbed national attention.
