The Global Battery Alliance (GBA) has successfully completed the largest pre-competitive effort to establish harmonized battery passports, a significant step towards a more transparent and sustainable battery value chain. The initiative involved leading battery cell manufacturers and digital solution providers, collecting data on the provenance and flow of key battery materials, and benchmarking companies against the EU Batteries Regulation’s due diligence requirements. This paves the way for a globally harmonized system of reporting and continuous improvement, ensuring greater transparency and sustainability in the battery industry.
