Acadia Healthcare and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Partner to Build New Behavioral Health Hospital in Council Bluffs

Acadia Healthcare and Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital are building a new behavioral health hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, addressing a critical shortage of mental health services in the region. The 96-bed facility, set to open in 2026, will offer specialized care for children and adolescents, as well as intensive outpatient services. This partnership aims to improve access to quality mental health services for residents of western Iowa and eastern Nebraska.

Fighting Fires Together: Supporting Mental Health of Wildland Firefighters

Weyerhaeuser and Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance (FBHA) collaborate on Fighting Fires Together campaign to raise awareness and provide mental health support for wildland firefighters and their families. In its third year, the partnership provides specialized resources and support for firefighters, including videos, tips, and connections to support groups and counselors. The campaign recognizes the growing challenges and mental toll of longer wildfire seasons in the Pacific Northwest. FBHA’s mission aligns with the partnership, providing behavioral health awareness, prevention, and post-crisis strategies for wildland firefighters.
