In a bizarre turn of events, the Congress party is urging voters in the Banswara-Dungarpur Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan not to support its official candidate, Arvind Damor. Instead, Congress has thrown its weight behind Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) candidate Rajkumar Roat. The reason behind this unusual move stems from internal conflicts and a lack of cooperation between the state and central units of Congress. Despite initially fielding Damor as its candidate, the party decided to support Roat at the eleventh hour. However, Damor has refused to withdraw his nomination, leading to a three-way contest that could benefit the BJP candidate, Mahendrajit Singh Malviya.
