Due to planned construction and closure of Ludington State Park, the iconic Big Sable Light will offer two additional bus days in 2024 and 2025, allowing for a total of eight opportunities to visit the lighthouse without the two-mile hike. This move aims to enhance accessibility for individuals with limited mobility, as well as those seeking a more comfortable journey. Bus days will run from noon to 5 p.m., providing flexibility and convenience for visitors. One-way tickets are priced at $3 for adults and $2 for students, while round-trip tickets cost $6 for adults and $4 for students. A separate charge of $8 for adults and $5 for students applies for climbing the lighthouse. The lighthouse will open for the season on May 7th and remain operational until October 21st, with the exception of a closure period from September 3rd to July 1st, 2025, during which the park will undergo renovations.
