On Wednesday, a Vistara aircraft flying from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi was вынужден to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff due to severe weather conditions. The aircraft, carrying 169 passengers and crew, encountered a hailstorm that cracked the windshield and damaged the radome. Despite the damage, all passengers and crew were unharmed. The airline has arranged for an alternate aircraft to complete the journey.

Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar is experiencing a surge in chartered flight activity, with over 3,000 non-scheduled flights recorded in the 2023-24 financial year. This increase is attributed to the upcoming election season and other factors. The airport is monitoring chartered flights and passenger details, as per Election Commission of India guidelines.
