Delhi Police Detains Eatery Owner for Selling Biryani on Plates with Lord Ram’s Picture

A Delhi eatery owner was detained by police for allegedly selling biryani on disposable plates bearing Lord Ram’s image. The incident occurred in the Jahangirpuri area, where several people protested outside the shop. Investigations revealed that the shopkeeper had purchased plates from a factory, some of which had the religious figure printed on them. He claimed to be unaware of the presence of the images, and the factory owners corroborated his statement. The Delhi Police detained the shopkeeper under CrPC sections 107/151 for preventive detention, seized the plates, and continue to investigate the matter. No case has been registered yet.
