Carl’s Jr. Closes Original Location in Boise, Idaho

Carl’s Jr., the popular fast-food chain known for its charbroiled burgers and fries, has closed its first-ever location in Boise, Idaho, at 226 South Broadway Ave. The company has not officially announced the closure, but signage has been removed from the building. This is the second Carl’s Jr. location to close in Boise within the past year. Customers can still visit other locations in Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, and Caldwell.

Bay Area Deputy Killed in Traffic Stop in Idaho

Ada County deputy Tobin Bolter, 27, a former officer with the Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek police departments in California, was shot and killed while approaching a driver’s window during a traffic stop in Boise, Idaho. The suspect fled the scene and was later shot and killed by police after exchanging gunfire with officers. Bolter is the first sheriff’s deputy in Ada County to be killed in the line of duty.
