Bangladeshi Smuggler Killed in BSF Firing in Tripura

A Bangladeshi smuggler was killed in a confrontation with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Tripura’s Sepahijala district on Sunday. The incident occurred during a smuggling attempt near Kalamchoura, where BSF troops observed several individuals armed with weapons attempting to cross the border illegally. After repeated warnings were ignored and the smugglers became aggressive, a BSF jawan fired a non-lethal shot in self-defense. However, the smugglers escalated the situation, leading to a scuffle and ultimately the fatal shooting of one individual. A search operation yielded a large cache of sugar and wooden planks, believed to be the smuggled goods. The deceased was identified as a resident of Mirpur, Bangladesh.
