Caribbean Days 2024: A Celebration of Culture and Business in Brussels

The second edition of Caribbean Days, hosted by the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce in Europe (CCCE), took place in Brussels from June 17 to 24, 2024, showcasing the best of Caribbean culture and business through a series of events. The event featured a cocktail competition, Caribbean cuisine, poetry readings, live music, and a gala dinner, culminating in a Latin dance competition. The event attracted attendees from the public and private sectors, fostering new business opportunities and enhancing the Caribbean’s profile in Europe.

Far-Right Gains Ground in Flanders, Struggles in Wallonia and Brussels

As Belgians prepare for upcoming elections, polls show significant disparities in voter support for the far right in different regions of the country. In Flanders, the far-right Vlaams Belang party is leading, while in Wallonia and Brussels, the far right remains less popular, with Chez Nous struggling to attract votes due to regional priorities, the ‘cordon sanitaire’ agreement, and internal discord. In the European Parliament, Vlaams Belang holds three seats as part of the far-right Identity and Democracy group, and its continued success reflects broader trends of far-right growth across Europe.
