Canadian Sikh Leader Murder: Three Accused Appear in Court

Three Indian nationals have appeared in a British Columbia courtroom on charges related to the murder of Canadian Sikh leader Ripudaman Nijjar last year. The three accused, identified as Karanpreet Singh, Kamalpreet Singh, and Karan Brar, are facing charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The incident triggered a diplomatic crisis between Canada and India, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleging Indian government involvement in Nijjar’s death. However, India has denied any involvement. The arrests come amidst concerns raised by Canadian Sikh leaders regarding alleged Indian interference in Canadian affairs.
