Car Erupts in Flames in Westhoughton, Prompting Emergency Response

On Wednesday afternoon, April 24, a car engulfed in flames on Manchester Road in Westhoughton. Police and fire crews rushed to the scene around 3:45 pm, responding to reports of a vehicle ablaze. Witnesses described hearing a loud bang and seeing smoke coming from the car before emergency services arrived. The firefighters deployed two hose reels and extinguished the blaze within half an hour. While the cause of the fire and the condition of the occupants remain unknown, some residents claimed that a woman and two children escaped the vehicle before the explosion. The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident and stated that four firefighters from Atherton attended to the scene.

Highway 401 Car Fire Sends One to Hospital

A car fire on Highway 401 resulted in one person being transported to the hospital and significant traffic disruptions.
