Delhi High Court to Deliver Verdict on Manish Sisodia’s Bail Pleas in Excise Policy Case

The Delhi High Court is scheduled to announce its decision on the bail applications filed by former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is facing charges in connection with the excise policy case. The case involves alleged irregularities in the implementation of the excise policy, leading to Sisodia’s arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February 2023. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also been investigating the matter, and Sisodia was subsequently arrested by the ED as well.

Sisodia’s Judicial Custody Extended Till May 30 in Delhi Liquor Excise Policy Case

The Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia until May 30 in connection with the Delhi Liquor Excise policy 2021-22 case. Sisodia was initially arrested by the CBI on February 26 and later by the ED on March 9. The court also adjourned the hearing on framing charges against Sisodia in light of directions from the Delhi High Court. The ED has informed the High Court that the Aam Aadmi Party will be made an accused in the next chargesheet in the money laundering case linked to the excise policy scam.
