The Combined Defence Service (CDS) exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit officers for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The exam is conducted in two stages: a written exam followed by an interview. The written exam comprises three subjects: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics (for IMA, INA, and AFA only). The interview is conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB) to assess the candidate’s personality, leadership qualities, and communication skills.
