Man Caught Driving with Suspended License During Virtual Court Hearing

A Michigan man was caught driving with a suspended license during a virtual court hearing. The incident occurred on May 15 when Corey Harris, 44, was appearing remotely in a Washtenaw County court hearing for charges stemming from an earlier arrest. The video showed Harris behind the wheel of a car in motion. Not only was Harris driving under a suspended license, but he was also violating Michigan law, which prohibits using cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. Judge J. Cedric Simpson immediately asked Harris if he was driving. Harris responded that he was pulling into his doctor’s office. Judge Simpson revoked Harris’ bond and ordered him to turn himself in at the Washtenaw County jail by 6 p.m. that day. Harris was released from custody two days later and is scheduled to appear in court again on June 5.
