Rajkumar Imo Singh, a BJP MLA from Manipur and son-in-law of the state’s Chief Minister, has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding the removal of central forces deployed in the state. Singh claims the forces have been ineffective in stopping the violence, which has recently escalated with the use of drones and RPGs. He argues that their presence has not yielded peace, questioning their role in maintaining order. His letter comes after a fresh wave of violence that saw two people killed and several injured in a suspected extremist attack.
