Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi, a 25-year-old Indian student pursuing a master’s degree at Concordia University Wisconsin, has been missing since May 2. He was last seen on the 4300 block of N. Sheridan Rd. The Consulate General of India in Chicago has contacted the police and Indian diaspora to locate him.
Multiple trash fires erupted in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on Sunday, prompting officials to issue a community warning. The incidents, which are suspected to be linked to two previous fires, occurred within a few blocks of each other and spread to nearby structures.
Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca, 30, was fatally shot outside his home in Gage Park early Sunday morning. During the attack, his gun and car were stolen. Huesca’s death comes just two days before his 31st birthday and in the same area where his colleague, Officer Andrews Vasquez-Lasso, was killed in the line of duty last year. No suspects are in custody at this time.
