Batra, who is currently ranked 24th in the world, defeated Manyu in the Round of 32 at the Saudi Smash tournament in Jeddah. This is a significant victory for Batra, as she is the first Indian female player to beat a Chinese player ranked in the top 2. Batra’s win comes at a time when the Chinese team is preparing for the Olympic Games in Paris, and she said that it is a ‘big deal’ for her to beat a Chinese player at this time.
