Indian TT star Manika Batra’s stunning upset of Chinese world No 2

Indian table tennis star Manika Batra has pulled off one of the biggest wins of her career by beating World No 2 Chinese Wang Manyu. Batra, who is currently ranked 24th in the world, defeated Manyu in the Round of 32 at the Saudi Smash tournament in Jeddah. This is a significant victory for Batra, as she is the first Indian female player to beat a Chinese player ranked in the top 2. Batra’s win comes at a time when the Chinese team is preparing for the Olympic Games in Paris, and she said that it is a ‘big deal’ for her to beat a Chinese player at this time. Batra said that she is confident that she can continue to improve and that she is aiming to be in the top 24 soon. She also said that she is working hard to change the mindset of Indian players and that she believes that Indian players are evolving and are now being taken more seriously by top players from other countries.
