Indian Protest Documentaries to Take Center Stage at Hot Docs Festival

Two documentaries chronicling the farmers’ protests and anti-CAA movement in India will be featured at Hot Docs, North America’s largest documentary film festival. ‘Farming The Revolution’ follows the year-long protests against farm laws, while ‘Shaheen Bagh: By the People, for the People’ focuses on the women-led protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Other Indian films at the festival include ‘Marching in the Dark,’ which explores farmer suicides, and ‘Drawing a Line,’ which highlights the work of cartoonist Rachita Taneja.
