Golf legend Gary Player is taking legal action after a replica Claret Jug he received for winning the 1974 British Open was sold at auction without his knowledge. Player claims he was unaware of the auction and that the individual entrusted with his memorabilia acted against his wishes. The auction house, Golden Age, has refuted Player’s claims, stating they have the utmost respect for him but consider his statements inaccurate.
