One Year Anniversary of Draper Homes Collapse: Cleanup Continues

On the one-year anniversary of the collapse of two Draper homes, the city clarified that the cleanup process is still ongoing. The developer, Edge Homes, has faced challenges due to snowpack and the need to stabilize the area before bringing in heavy equipment. Ann’s Trail remains partially closed due to debris, but Clark’s Trail has reopened. Edge Homes anticipates completing the final phase of cleanup this year.

Waukegan Earth Week Kicks Off with Citywide Cleanup

Over 500 volunteers gathered in Waukegan, Illinois, for the third annual Earth Week cleanup. The event, organized by Marty Wozniak, expanded citywide this year, with volunteers collecting trash from streets, beaches, and neighborhoods. Churches, schools, and community groups participated, including Christian Neighbors Church, Journey Church, and the Waukegan High School Environmental Club. Mayor Ann Taylor expressed her appreciation for the community’s involvement, and the cleanup will continue throughout the week with Dumpster placements in each ward and a free yard waste pickup.
